Hello Chuck, I'm replying to the Blount List, since others may be interested in the cemetery I'm mentioning. There is in Blount Co., AL the still active Ricetown Chapel Cemetery, which had over 120 graves in it several years ago when it was cataloged. It was established in the late 19th century by my grandfather, David Preston Rice, and others and is located on a hill a few hundred yards above the house DPR built. I have the catalog for this cemetery, and there are several Jameses in it, including an Isaac. I'm in the process of putting the cemetery catalog into computer file format and sending it to the Blount County Webmaster. She will then post it to the Blount Web Page. However, let me go ahead and list some of the Jameses here: Patsa K. James June 12, 1857 - May 15, 1892 Isaac James February 13, 1818 - May 5, 1900 Rhoda A., wife of Isaac James May 18, 1819 - August 20, 1879 Thomas A. James September 29, 1842 - October 9, 1871 D.L. James May 8, 1852 - February 5, 1906 J.H. Huston James June 14, 1846 - June 26, 1925 Sarah E. James December 17, 1855 - May 7, 1925 Margaret L. James August 27, 1843 - November 22, 1896 I believe that's all the Jameses. Since we are talking about cemeteries and haloween is tomorrow, the following joke may be appropriate: Two men were walking home after a Halloween party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows. Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones. "Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?" "Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!" -- Regards, Jim Rice (jimtrice@prodigy.net) CRJBAMA@aol.com wrote: > > Looking for information on Jones Chapel Cemetery, in Cullman County.
