Hi Everyone: I need help finding my Taylor family. I have hit a brick wall. This is my line. If anyone recognizes any names.... please contact me. Jake? Taylor- This name was given to me by a family member. I have looked for a Jake and a Jacob Taylor in the Blount Co.AL. area, but can't find one anywhere. Jake, I assume, is a nickname. It was also said that Jake lost an arm in the Civil War. I found one note in a book on a J.T. Taylor that stated " J.T. Taylor wounded in side and arm, probably died from his wounds" Yet, I can't find a J.T. Taylor either. His children state on the census that their father and mother were both born in SC. These are his children and I have found all of them as adults, living in the Blount Co.,AL. area. (The names were also given to me by a family member) 1. Lewis Taylor- b: 1853 in Ga. md: Mary ? d: in TX. 2. Henry William Taylor-b: in Ga. md: Arena Bentley in Blount Co.,AL on Mar.11,1875. d: in Arkansas 3. "Ike" Isaac Taylor- b: 1856 in Ga?. md: Elizabeth Taylor d: probably in Winston Co.,AL. 4. Jane Taylor- died at 18 5. Ransom Taylor- b: 1859 in Ga. md: Aft. 1880 to Adaline Martin. (He is listed in the 1880 Blount census, unmarried and living with his aunt Rebecca Taylor) 6. Eliza Ann Taylor- b: Nov.15,1852 Ga. md: Aug.4,1872 in Blount Co.,AL. to Joshua Sullins. She died Nov.29,1919 ( I ordered a death certificate on Eliza, but they say one was never submitted) On the 1880 Blount Co.,census there is a David Taylor(b: 1820)and his wife Elizabeth (b: 1825) living next door to Ransom, Isaac, and Lewis. They have a daughter Mary L. (b: 1866) living with them. If I had a true name for Jake I probably could continue my search. Can anyone help?
