    3. Jim & Glenda, I don't know which one of you is the Thacker, so am addressing this to both of you. Thanks for this info. I haven't researched Thackers in so long, I need to get our my material & review it. I think I remember an Isaac R. that sounds like yours in Autauga Co. AL area? Is this yours? I've seen the probate records in Abbeville records on these. I can't connect to mine, but believe them to be kin (most related families & neighbors of my Thackers were from Abbeville). This is my line & my problem: Didama Thacker, b.c1800 TN, was on 1840 (& later) census of Walker Co.AL w/ no husband. I can not find her or any male anywhere on earlier censuses in AL who could be her husband, yet she had children born in AL from 1819 (per their stated place of birth on several censuses). Her daughter Lucinda Thacker, b. c1819 AL, md William "Bill" COBB, b. 1813 TN, and they are my grandmother's grandparents. They all lived in So. Walker Co., AL in the part that is near the Fayette & N. Tusc. Co. line.Bill Cobb had land all over, but the home place was Dixie Springs, near Oakman. Lucinda & several of her sisters were charter members of Providence Baptist Ch. in 1853 & Bill Cobb was later a deacon there. They are buried Providence Ch. Cem. Most of Lucinda's bros. & sister's also md. into other families kin to me, so I have a lot of data on them; just not on Didama. SOme think she was D-I-L of Samuel & Sarah Thacker of Walker Co. She may be, but I have found nothing to connect them. Samuel lived near Jasper, which is nearer Cullman Co. Since part of Cullman Co. was once Walker, I think Thacker Creek there is interesting & I need to check who settled nearby. Samuel may have had kin there. Thanks so much for your reply. I have bits of Thacker data just collected while searching other lines in SC, NC, early in VA, etc. If you;ve done any researching further back than SC, I'll pull all that out when I get caught up & share w/ you.
