Helping a man with his wife's Pate and Tidwell line. Just recd vague info from him that his wife has John Pate and Mattie Tidwell in her ancestry. Does anyone out there have this couple in their background? I would love to hear from you so that I can get him started with this. He has no dates go with the names, so having to hunt and peck. Thanks to Terry Jackson's 1900 census index I was able to find some info on Pates so far, but still not conclusive...Thanks a bunch...Melba Lowe
