    3. The Southern Democrat Jan 11, 1926 AGED VETERAN DIES GEO H JULIAN, after a long and useful life, passed to his reward Monday night. He had been in ill health for a year of more but was able to get about in his home up to the day before his death. Mr Julian was a native of Blount County, Tenn., coming to Alabama with his parents when he was about 15 years of age and settling in Morgan County. Later he moved to Nectar in this county where he established a home. About 30 years ago he moved to Blountsville where he spent the remainder of his life. The deceased was 86 years of age and had been an active member of the M E Church, South for many years. He took a keen interest in the affairs of his State and County. He served one term as County Superintendent of Education more than thirty years ago. Mr. Julian entered the Confederate Army at the beginning of the War Between the States and fought through that bloody conflict. The deceased is survived by his widow, five sons, M R Julian of Jamestown, N Y; Marvin Julian of Vance, Ala; Will Julian of Dallas, Texas; A A Julian of Blountsville and Lon Julian of Los Angeles, Calif; and seven daughters, Mrs Tom Holmes, of Cullman; Mrs John Holmes of Eva; Mrs Geo. Pass of Blountsville, Mrs. John Graves of Birmingham; Mrs Clyde Stewart of Cullman; Mrs Ellis Self of Blountsville; and Mrs A L Head of Oneonta. The funeral services were held at Blountsville Tuesday and were conducted by Rev. Kaylor.
