Robin, I will be going to the funeral home tomorrow to arrange to have the death date carved on my mother's headstone. Here's her information if you'd like to update your file. Nectar Cem. Barbara A. Wood b. 5-16-1937 d. 9-30-2002 ss Dallas A. Wood My father and brothers, Travis (Olga) Wood and Tracey (Tanya) Wood and myself will miss her terribly. As bad as Momma will be missed, I think Stacy and Roger Jackson and Doug, Brad and Frances Wood will miss Granny even more. Momma was the daughter of Lela B. Standridge Waters Rucks Childress and Samuel Elijah Waters. She had sisters Zora Etta (Billy) McAnnally, Carol (Joe) Privett and Virginia (Kenneth) Witt. Blount Co. ancestors included Rose Etta Marsh and Henry Grady Standridge Sarah Elizabeth Jenkins and Joel Robert Marsh Mary E. Tumlin and Thomas H. Jenkins Lurany Bruce and W.H. Tumlin Susan Johnson and William Wesley Marsh Nancy Caldwell and Robert Marsh Polly Elliott and Joel Johnson Sarah and James Elliott John Jenkins Emma Horton and William Wesley Standridge Letty and Isaac Standridge Sarah Hall and Isaac Standridge Sarah Dean and Isaiah Standridge Rebecca Price and Samuel Standridge Mary Wallace and James Standridge Georgia L. Mitchell and Thurmon M. Horton Joel Mitchell Jeffrey Horton I went to the cemetery the day after the funeral. I was afraid it would be an awful day but surprisingly I was OK. Over the years Momma had spent countless hours tromping thru the cemteries with me and it seemed perfectly natural to be in the cemetery with her. A few days before she died, she was fretting because she had nothing to leave me. I reminded her of all the genealogy trips and escapades we'd had and let her know I wouldn't trade that time with her for all the gold in China. Terry Jackson
