    3. Hello Everyone, Over the last number of years, I have from time to time posted information and queries on this Rootsweb site regarding the burial site of my GGrandfather and GGrandmother, Samuel Rogers (1832-1911) and Delilah Eaton-Rogers (1839-1893). Samuel was a veteran of the War Between the States and served in two separate Regiments. Also buried there is Gregory Glasscock (1793-1869) and his wife Sara Ryan-Glasscock (1795-1872). Gregory was a Veteran of The War of 1812 and has a Commemorative Veteran Gravestone located at Antioch Cemetery, on the other side of the County. The Gravestone was placed there because the "Blount County Memorial Committee" did not know where he was buried. Both of these families are buried on the same land they at one time owned and farmed. We have discovered over 35 individual graves and most are disappearing despite our efforts to protect them. The Cemetery is on private land off Cox Cove Road, SE of Bangor and the current owner lets his cattle roam ! throughout the Cemetery at will. Consequently, gravestones have been broken and scattered and graves have been scuffed away. A group of us, representing the descendants and relatives of those buried there, have been in contact with the owner seeking permission to place a fence around the graves. We have been talking to him now for 8 years without success. Most recently however, he stated that we will have to buy the property because we definitely cannot fence it within his fence line. At this point, my next step is to consult with an attorney that is knowledgeable in these matters and to see what can be done now to protect those graves. So I am turning to the ever-faithful Blount County List to ask if anyone knows of such a lawyer. If you do, please E-mail his/her telephone number to me and I will call them direct. Thanks for all your help, both past and present. Frank Smith
