I have found that the Blount Co. land sales or patents are great tools for tracking families. I purchased a large Blount Co. map on line from Alabama Archives and have marked off every location where the Ratliffs and Andertons bought land. You can then find out who their neighbors were and how they moved about. The land purchases are shown on the Ala. Archives web site.

I have one showing the Village Springs area but thanks anyway, others may not be aware of that.
