    3. Billie Anne, Wallace College has both the Compiled Service Records and the Pension Records for Alabama Soldiers. I know they're going to have some adjusted hours during Nov., so you might want to call before you go. 1. [ALBLOUNT] Jeremiah Tidwell
    2. I am happy to help with "look ups" from the Mt. Pisgah Minute Book; however, some of the more prominent people involved with this church have multiple "entries". I am doing this for Jeremiah Tidwell as an example of the kinds of entries that are in the Minutes, and as you can see they are extensive. And, I really don't have time to do all these "look ups". As I have posted, if you are interested in me publishing these Minutes, let me know, and if there is sufficient interest I will attempt to do so. Dr. H. M. "Mac" Stiles

    1. [ALBLOUNT] Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church
    2. A few years ago Rita Allgood Tubbs and I extracted and abridged the minutes from the United Baptist Church of Christ at Mount Pisgah, Blount County, Alabama. These minutes begin in 1838 and continue through June 1873. They were transcribed from the original hand written minutes, which were in my possession at the time. There were 5 copies of these minutes made and were presented to (1) The record room in the Court House in Oneonta; (2) The Blount County Museum (3) Samford University Library in Birmingham, and a copy each for Rita and for me. The original handwritten records have been deposited in the library at Samford University in Birmingham, along with the transcriptions, annotations, etc. At the time I was not sure how many people would be interested in purchasing these minutes. Since then I have had several inquiries about various individuals who might be mentioned in those minutes. Therefore, if there is sufficient interest in publishing these minutes, I will attempt to do so. Be aware that the books will probably be in the $45-$50 range. So, let me know if there is interest in the publication of this book. Dr. H. M. "Mac" Stiles

    3. I've got it!! I found a copy of the minutes as transcribed by Melba and sent to me in April 1997. The cover page has a Dedication and an Introduction. Melba wrote; "My thanks to friend and mentor, Dr. H. M. Stiles of Texas, for allowing me to use his copy of the Minutes so that this project could come about. My thanks to Dr. Stiles, too, for furnishing the wonderful photographs (with information) about his ancestral grandfathers, DeForest Allgood and Stephen C. Allgood (son of Deforest)." 1. [ALBLOUNT] Mamie Roden
    2. Hi, Blount county researchers! Has anybody connected Mamie Roden, who everyone says was the wife of Robert Tidwell, and the mother of my gg grandfather William Tidwell, with the George Roden living beside Robert in the 1830 Blount county census? I feel really stupid asking that, but it is the only way I know to ask it. I am impressed with the info that the Tidwell and Roden ancestors have amassed, but have seen nothing that indicates who her parents might have been. Any ideas? I need something to obsess about, I guess. Dorothy Duke Rhodes {my grandfather Wm Albert Tidwell was eldest son of Craven Rowlan -(that's how the family said it, anyway) Tidwell: He, in turn, was one of the children of William (Leuden?) Tidwell and Mary Ann Harris. I have so many brick walls I could build a city!}
