Hi Sharon, What's your Whaley interest? I don't have Whaley direct, but my great aunt, Rebecca Rice, married Monroe Whaley, in Blount Co., AL in 1871. The big "Kincheloe, McPherson and Related Families" has more on Monroe's ancestry. -- Regards, Jim Rice (jimrice@athensnet.com) Sharon McCord wrote: > > Branham <smccord@mail.win.org> > Casey <smccord@mail.win.org> > Hays <smccord@mail.win.org> > Henderson <smccord@mail.win.org> > McCord <smccord@mail.win.org> > Moss <smccord@mail.win.org> > Pinson <smccord@mail.win.org> > Sanders <smccord@mail.win.org> > Tidwell <smccord@mail.win.org> > Whaley <smccord@mail.win.org> > Wright <smccord@mail.win.org> > > <smccord@mail.win.org>
Hello Harriet, et al, I don't have any direct help on the Whatley, but , assuming they married ca. 1880 in Cullman Co., I think the marriages for that area/time have been extracted and published. Believe I've seen the books at Samford Univ. Library near B'ham. They are probably in the Cullman and other libraries too. Changing the subject, do we have a Dan Scott or Mike Wisener on this List? They are two fellows who are writing a history on the Holly Pond area of Blount County. The last address I had for Dan was as follows: Dan Scott P.O. Box 28 Holly Pond, AL 35083-0028 Phone (205) 647-0236 Mike Wisener has an e-mail address, but I've lost it. I think he is on AOL, but I'm not sure. The phone number I have for Mike is (205) 796-2652. Also, I have a living 2nd cousin, Herman Martin, who is in his 80's and has lived all his life in Holly Pond. He seems to have know everyone in the area and can still remember most of it. Maybe give Herman a call at (205) 796-2626. Unfortunately, Herman does not have a computer and isn't likely to get one, but he's very interested in family history questions. -- Regards, Jim Rice (jimrice@athensnet.com) HarrietSLP@aol.com wrote: > > Hello, > > My name is Harriet Williams and I am a "newbie" to this list. Cousins, Those of you on the Ran-Clay list I manage know about the surnames project we have on that list. What we are trying to do with that is to see who is researching which surnames, in hopes that we will be able to connect and work together more effectively. I would also like to do that project on ALBLOUNT. If you will send me the surnames you are researching in this area, I will combine them, and send them in a post to the list. Please use the same subject line I used for this post, or, if you'd rather, just "reply" to this post, which will have you use the subject line. Hello, cousins!! When looking through the past week's post, I realized that mine was not among the ones in my mailbox for this list, so I am resending the info. If you got it, please excuse the duplication. Our list now has a WONDERFUL website at http://members.aol.com/gsvge/alblount/alblount.html which was constructed by our cousin, the fantastic Blount county USGENWEB coordinator Glenda Savage! It will also link you to all the resources available for the area. If you have not done so, please post your queries so that we can begin watching for each other's ancestors.
