Thanks again, Robin Sterling, for another WONDERFUL service that you have done for the public. Your site is the best out there. Thanks for the recent 1866 Census of Blount County Alabama. I was able to confirm that my hubby's gg grandfather did not make it back from the War as we thought. This is a gold mine! For those of you who have not viewed this yet, PLEASE do! And pass it on to those who may not be signed up to the rootsweb sites. This is especially valuable to those who do not live in or near the Blount County Alabama area. Again, Robin, my friend, THANK YOU! You are something else!...Melba Lowe http://home.hiwaay.net/~bobwonda/index.html

Jan A technique I've used in the past Call Lemley Funeral Home (205-274-2323). Ask for Greg Long. Ask him who does he call when he has to open a grave there for burial. Now, I'm going to be nosey. I'd like to hear about your family members there. I have a Sarah Standridge Hare and her sons buried there. Sarah was a sister to my 3G grandfather Isaac H. Standridge, out of White Co., GA. Isaac moved over into Nectar with his uncle Isaac and Sarah Hall/Hill Standridge. Sarah came to visit her brother and married Isaac L. Hare. I need to clarify my question, I am searching for the burial place of Henry C Barton, his wife Rebecca and any of his children. Rebecca preceded him in death and Henry was last known to be living with his son Gilbert according to the 1860 Blount Co. census, Henry was 87 at that time.
Does any one know of any Barton Graves in Blount Co., I am searching for any of my ancestors graves, they came from the Pendleton District of S.C.
Hi list, Can someone on the list answer this young lady's question - she is not on the mailing list but asked the question of me and I don't know the answer but I know some of you do - because you all are SOOOOO NICE !!!!!! Thanks, Robin Amerson ********************************* Subj: (no subject) Date: 04/11/02 8:29:36 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: [email protected] To: ROAMERSON I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. I was told that my husband's grandmother was born in the area of Blount Mountain. I'm assuming that would be in Blount County? Can you confirm this and, if it's true, give me the name of the town right around Blount Mountain? thanks Barbara
To my knowledge you might be referring to Blunt / Blount MT. which is close to Remlap and Springville., That would be in Jefferson Co. Hope this helps ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 11, 2002 11:42 PM Subject: [ALBLOUNT-L] RE: Blount Co question from a non-mailing list researcher > Hi list, > > Can someone on the list answer this young lady's question - she is not on the > mailing list but asked the question of me and I don't know the answer but I > know some of you do - because you all are SOOOOO NICE !!!!!! > > Thanks, > Robin Amerson > ********************************* > Subj: (no subject) > Date: 04/11/02 8:29:36 PM Pacific Daylight Time > From: [email protected] > To: ROAMERSON > > I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. Hi everyone. The Bibb County "Cuzins" are having a genealogy get-together on Saturday, June 1, 2002, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the pavillion at Bibb County Lake in Walter Owens Park. This is for ALL our listers and families - anyone who has ties to Bibb County through families, related families and those who are seeking their families. There are picnic tables and no charges for use of the pavillion; just clean-up afterward. The pavillion is handicap accessible. Several "cuzins" are coming from out-of-state; many others from all parts of Alabama. Bring a covered dish (or two), your relatives (dead or alive:), pictures, family trees, scrapbooks, stories, plenty of paper for note taking, cameras - and have a great time meeting folks, sharing answers to those brick walls, discovering your heritage, and eating great Southern food. Directions: *Driving south to Tuscaloosa: Hwy 82 almost to Centreville; Hwy 5 heading north to the park. Go 5.4 miles and then about 1 mile to the lake and pavillion . * I-20/59 (Birmingham to Tuscaloosa): Exit 97; Hwy 5 heading south; mileage is 15.7 miles and then approximately 1 mile to the lake. Vocational School is on left before park entrance. * I-20/59 west of Tuscaloosa: exit at Hwy 82; Hwy 5 heading north. *Driving north, as on Hwy. 43: exit on Hwy 5 at Brent, heading north. *Driving north as from I-65, 231, etc.: Hwy 82 at Prattville; continue thru Centreville; Hwy 219 and connect with Hwy 5 just before getting to the park. For specific information contact Pat at [email protected] or 205-938-9579. And please share this with others. See you June 1.
