    1. Re: [ALBLOUNT-L] Four Family Reunion
    2. Debbie, Yes, the reunion was held over the weekend (Sept. 28 & 29) at the Woodmen of the World Building in Oneonta. The Reunion is scheduled for October 4 & 5, 2003 at the same location. Traditionally, the reunion has always been held on the first Sunday in October with the Genealogy Workshop on that Saturday, but we had to change the dates due to the Talladega 500 being this coming weekend and every hotel within a 50 mile radius of the Talladega Super Speedway was booked up and charging over $100 a night (three night minimum). Next year the race will be the last weekend in Sept. so we will go back to our original time. I 'm sorry you missed the reunion. What family do you have ties to? If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. 1. [ALBLOUNT-L] Walker County Genealogical Society Monthly Meeting
    2. The Walker County Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, September 26, 2002, in the Carl Elliott Regional Library, Jasper , Alabama, at 1:00 PM. Our speaker will be Ms. Melba Clark, Decatur, Al. Her topic will be "A Look At Land Records." Ms. Clark's father, Grady Robbins, was born in Walker County. If any of you are a member of Alabama-L, you will recognize her as the Melba that has the answers to most of our questions. (The other Melba from Blount County has the balance of the answers.) We are lucky to have the two Melba's, but even luckier to have Melba Clark address us. Come and join us. Refreshments will be served. Bobbye Wilson Wade, Dennis Freeman, Recording Secretary President [email protected] [email protected] Every time a certain cousin finds one of my so called ancestors, I have to find four to prove that it ain't so. Every time I find an ancestor, I have to find two more ancestors, Bible entries, Census Records and Court Records to prove it is so.
