Moore died before December 4, 1862 in the Civil War. His widow Susan Moore, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama filed a Claim on December 2, 1864. He served as a Private in McMath's Company, 11th Alabama Infantry Regiment. According to another file on this same web site, James R. Moore died September 1862 at Richmond, Virginia. He was a farmer, enlisted on March 1, 1862 as a private, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, Age 25. Served in Co. G, 11th Alabama Infantry Regiment. His Engagements: Absent Sick at: Seven Pines 1862/05/31-1862/06/01, Gaines Mill 1862/06/27, Fraziers Farm 1862/06/30, 2nd Manassas 1862/08/30.
