According to what I found, he was buried in Shady Grove Cemetery. There are two in Bibb County. I have been to the one in Randolph, but didn't find his grave there. There were 2 unmarked graves there. He is my third great-grandfather on my mother's side. He was the father of Chapman Milam. Chapman was the father of Daniel Newton Milam. Daniel had nine daughters & one son. One of his daughters, Maggie Leois Virginia, was my maternal grandmother. Newton was a justice of the peace, was indicted on for stealing $50.00, which he did not pay, and then was fined for $500.00 for not paying the $50.00 and had an order to be picked up by the sheriff on sight. I have copies of all of these papers from the old courthouse here in Columbiana. I read about his death and where he was buried from information posted on the Shelby County, AL, website. My name is Jan Oliver. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Jan , Do you have a source for checking graves with or without markers. I've been searching for my great grandparents for years. They are Samuel C. and Mary Ann Hunsucker Tucker. Please, if you can help me I would be happy.
