His given name was Willie Wamsley Miles. He is the son of Levi Modest Miles, or whatever name he was using at the time. We have found several variations of of Levi Modest used throughout the family. Levi married Virigia A. Bradham on December 23, 1875 in Decatur, Newton, Mississippi. They had 14 children. Emma Pearl, Bama Estelle, George W, Alexander, James Walter, Joseph Lee, Lula Delvina, Willie Wamsley, Adella Mary, Minnie O, Mary Elizbeth "Lizzie", Henry McCloud, Charles Elmer, and Verda F. Several people have a death date in 1929 for Levi. This is not correct. The L M Miles that died in Cherokee County was not Levi Mardis Miles. We have been to Cherokee County and viewed that death certificate. That man was not born in Alabama. We believe Levi died between 1910 and 1920. He was on the 1910 Census in Justice Precint 4, Limestone County with his wife Virginia and sons Henry, Charles, and daughter, Vida. The 1920 census shows Virginia as a WIDOW and she is living with J S Miles (we think this should be J L Miles, her son Joseph Lee) in Navarro County. We know Virginian died in 1925.
