    3. I received the email at the end of this posting yesterday, 12-17, about the school. Be sure to visit the web site indicated, not only for pictures of the school but for the "thousands" of pictures that David Daniel and Vicky Clemmons put on the site for public viewing in the process of producing the book, "Images of America: Bibb County". Several of my Andrew Smith and Joanna Caffee family pictures are in this book and many more are on the web site. I have not labeled mine, yet, but many contributors have. Paula Fancher is one of many who were involved in this project and I saw that her pictures are identified. I met David, Paula and Vicky when I took my "treasures" to Centreville last spring for David to scan. Please note that I have no information on the sale of this book - that info is available via the web site shown in the following email. For more info about the fire go to http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2008/12/bibb_county_school_fire_still.html Caroline Horton, List Administrator >From Vicky Clemmons, Centreville Historic Preservation Commission: "For those on my mailing list that are not local, I have some very tragic news. The old Bibb County High School was built in 1909 and later became the Jr. High School, this school year the children were moved to other schools and the old school was being renovated to house the Board of Education. Yesterday [12-16] the building burned and only a brick shell exists, this was a great loss to those of us that treasure all of our historic buildings." "David made some great photos, in fact, around 700, to view them go to www.HistoricBibb.org there is a link to historic pictures, scroll to the bottom and watch the slide show or view them one at a time. All of the pictures are not there but this will give you an idea of how bad it was."
