    3. Beverly Caroline and Liz gave you excellent answers (CMSR's and Pension Files). I don't recall exactly where you live, but if you are "closer" to Birmingham, the Birmingham Public Library has both of these series on microfilm as well. It's where I obtained B.P.'s information. Also remember the CMSR's are just the cards created to refer to another source... so you **typically** are not going to see the actual record but rather a reference to the muster roll the soldier was on, etc. For some records though if they apply **only** to that soldier you might see letters and correspondence and if you are lucky you might get an actual physical description of your soldier (height, weight, eye color, hair color, etc). BTW, I haven't forgotten about B.P., in fact I was able to visit Centreville on Friday and I have about 400 images on JONES', CAMPBELL's, COBB's, PERRY's, etc... problem is I now have to figure out what I have. Pretty much from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with a quick break for lunch) I was pulling ledger size books, identifying what they were and snapping photos of what I needed.
