Nelda These claims are available online in two places - Ancestry.com and Footnote.com. At Ancestry.com, John Smith est. is under the "disallowed or barred" claims. It appears the heirs filed the claim indicated that John Smith was deceased, but they did not give a date as to when he died. Filing the claim were John Smith, Tempy Smith, Patsy Smith and Sukey? Smith (this last one is difficult to decipher). There are only 5 pages including covers. The claims was filed on two horses taken when Wilson came through. Hope this helps! Do you know the year of the Unions Army march to Selma. I was trying to find this in Nat. Archives & they usually want a yr(or timeline) to search in. Do you know the year? I believe this John Smith to be my GGGGrandfather, and would like to try and order this. I did look in Clayton Library, Houston, and said the book Southern Loyalists was out of print & one would have to sign up to try and see a copy?? Do you know of other Libraries who might have it? I live in Tarrant Co., TX. Any info appreciated, as I have been looking for info on this GGGGrandfather. Thanks, Nelda Smith Thompson Colleyville, TX *******
