Thank you so much for the kind comments. Uncle Frank and Abney's store in Maplesville was like a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting or from the Andy Griffith Show. I think that anyone who ever visited there will confirm that. Any time that you entered the store there would always be a small group of men seated up front on boxes or upturned spools of wire talking or playing checkers. The store itself had a timeless quality and was a real mix of old and new items. and was a great place to browse. It was a wonderful place for a boy to visit. Frank and Abney loved their family, their neighbors and their town. I miss them both.
