I was just received a gift of of James H. Walker's book "The Struggle and the Joy, An American Coal Town, Piper, Alabama. My paternal families (Champions and Daileys) are from this area and I really enjoyed reading this historical account of this mining community. Many many former Piper and Coleanor families are mentioned by name in this wonderful book, I would be happy to do look ups if anyone is curious if their ancestors are mentioned.
