I'm not a Hicks. The link is to help you find another Hicks with the same ancestor, although that may be a distant ancestor. I did Y-DNA and mtDNA testing and found a distant Tate ancestor by matching Y-DNA results with two males in TX and some collaborative research to take our lines back another generation to a common ancestor. My mtDNA results established Native American ancestry that had been only oral family history with no details. I've found 8 matches with that but only one has firmly established Indian ancestry; the others having only oral family history.
