Poor Farms-Alabama It seems to me, these would be run by the county. Therefore, possibly a county record or another govt. entity? Look for who has jurisdiction and the records (county, state agency, etc). I know there was one just outside Selma, on highway 22. They had a pecan grove, plus farming. I think the main house is still standing, was hidden behind trees on the road. We used to go there in the 1950's and buy pecans. I have read and seen picture (in the past) of another poor farm, in eastern county, have records about it, someplace....from what I understood..they were sort of kept secret,I realize this has nothing to do with recirds in Bibb county, If I had time I would Google "Poor Farms" in Alabama. Never know.
