    3. Chilton Count Yahoogroups "Chilton@yahoogroups.com has a great deal of information in Henderson, Sims, Mims, and my personal favorite, Hill. Richard "Dick" H Hill was my GG Grandfather. My Great Grandfather was Charles Henry Hill Sr b 31 Mar 1886 married Rosa Mae Gentry 19 Apr 1908, and died 12 Dec 1939. I believe that his daughters Dorothy Louise and Evelyn Hill were responsible for the tombstone referenced in this thread. I am the grandson of Charles Henry Hill Jr who died after being run over by a train in Kansas in 1946. He had 2 sons my father Loy Orson Hill and Norman Henry Hill - both deceased. Have you been able to verify your story regarding Richard Hill? Other family members seem to think that Richard was adopted, and was the illegitimate son of a man from Virginia, or that his mother, supposedly named Elizabeth (age 15 when Richard was born) was Cherokee and lived in the Hill family lodging as a servant. Another story, I've recently heard is that Elizabeth died in a bar room brawl, as a prostitute, and the children were taken in by another family named either Glouster, Glouchester, Gutheridge, Gunther, or other name beginning with "G" until they could be adopted - I've also come across a reference to the name Mary as being a sister to Richard Hill, but no name for the other brother. There is also speculation, that James Washington (No Sir Name) was renamed to Richard Henry "Dick" Hill after being adopted or becoming part of the Hill family, although no adoption records can be found, that I am aware of.
