In response to Caroline's request to identify the individuals we are looking for in Bibb County: According to the death certificate of Hugh T. "Dan" WARD b. 7 Jan 1852, his father was L------(can't decipher) WARD and mother unknown. Our research seems to prove that L. WARD was married to a Mary SHELBY and she was the mother of our Hugh T. "Dan" WARD. We believe this is the same Mary WARD who married Allen MALONE 3 Feb 1858 and had a daughter, Mary, age 2 on the 1860 census. Records for these families have been found in both Bibb and Tuscaloosa Cos. Any help with the identify of "L. Ward" would be greatly appreciated. That one death certificate is the only record we have ever located that gives a name to him. Evelyn S. Leslie
