John Blake appears often in our family. My gggreatgrandfather, John Blake (1766-1836) and his wife, Martha Ann Moon (1776- after 1837) came into Bibb County, AL when it opened for settlement ca 1819. They had a son, John Blake, who married Tabitha Haggard according to Old Cahaba County records 3 Jul 1820. They are shown on the 1850 Federal Census in Attala County, MS. On the 1860 Census his wife is shown as a widow with four children in Oktibbeha County, MS. My ggreatgrandfather, Archer Henry Blake (1795 --- 1874) named his first son John. That John was born in Cahaba (now Bibb) County 13 Jul 1820. He married Dicie Griffin in Bibb County, AL 23 Aug 1844. Apparently they never left Bibb County because they both are buried in the Pratt---Wallace Cemetery. I'm not sure any of this information would be helpful to you but I hope that it will open some doors for you. Winifred Allen Akridge **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. There was a man living near Ft Worth Texas who published the medical doctors patient list, a history of the Shchultz Baptist Church minutes, and several other fine documents. forget his name, but he was of the Blake lineage, and the Wallace. Since Logan family had twiced married with Wallace, he referred to us as Cousins.... Look under Wallace and find Blake interaction. I believe the entire group came from Edgefield District, SC. don ----- Original Message ----- From: <WHAWJA@aol.com> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 24, 2008 4:47 PM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] Seeking information about John Henry Blake,Please Help!! > John Blake appears often in our family.
