Caroline, There is another option. You can obtain the microfilm for newspapers through inter-library loan; if your library has a microfilm reader. See, I knew someone would have an good solution! Ingrid, let us know what you are able to find and if you were able to arrange the inter-library loan. And thanks, Beth. Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I do not have McCord's Book in order to look this James Clark up. If anyone has it please let me if he is in there. Now, who does the interlibrary loans, the Brent/Centreville Library or the Nat'l Archives in Montgomery? I will try both. Someone suggested to me that the newspapers are housed over in a building near the annex in Centreville. I will make some calls today to see who has what. I will pass that information on to the list after I get it. Again, I am looking for the death information for one James Clark who died either in late 1864 or early 1865 prior to his will probate in May of 1865. He is the son of Alexander Clark. Thanks As Long As You Mention My Name, I Live....Mayberry, Wilson, Mason, Clark, Duff, Kemp... The Alabama Archives in Montgomery does the interlibrary loan. Check online and get the title and reference # for the microfilms that you are interested in. Then take this information to your local library and request the interlibrary loan. I am not familiar with the Brent/Centreville library so let us know if they have microfilm and if they loan it out. For those of you researching in Virginia; the Virginia archives has an extensive interlibrary loan program. You are required to pay shipping fees.
