All, One can use www.worldcat.org to locate newspapers, microfilm, books, etc. I had thought that the only place I could read Alabama Baptist Newspapers was at Samford U. in Birmingham. I was surprised to see that Baylor U. in Waco, TX (closer to me than Birmingham) has these as well. Then take this information to your local library and request the interlibrary loan. Early newspapers are listed for each county with the dates microfilm is available for that newspaper. Or, ask the researchers at ADAH to find the obit for you. The fee and other requirements for research are explained online. <Re: Is that particular James Clark in this book. Do you know where can I purchase that book?> There are several Clarks with the beginning initial "J". As stated earlier to Chuck: ". . . there is a Clark Cemetery (family cemetery). In it are several with surnames of Lawrence and Mink. Also: J.J. Clark, b. July 15, 1831; d. Mar 17, 1879. Charles P. Clark, b. May 11, 1859; d. Oct 11, 1859. This J. J. Clark is the only "J" Clark of the right age to have been in the war." And this pertains not only to this cemetery but to the entire book, unless I overlooked something, which is very possible, of course. Go to the Bibb County web site at http://bibbcountyal.org/ . Then scroll to "county resources", then scroll to "books for sale". The McCord cemetery book is listed as its first title "Baptists of Bibb County". Order from Brent-Centreville Library, 153 Walnut Street, Centreville, AL 35042 I would suggest that all list members go to our great website and review what is there and become familiar with how to find information. The same for the Alabama Dept of Archives and History. There is a wealth of info online at both sites.
