I am descended from Jesse Anderson Brown and Obedience Leggett who lived around Gary Springs and Enon Baptist Church. Jesse had a brother, Edmond, who lived down near Maplesville, just off Hwy. 82 and the road to Selma. Edmond moved to Kemper county, MS about 1840, along with his son, Dr. Albert Brown, MD and maybe a second son, Henry. Edmond was married to Nancy "Appy" Barfield(?). I have very little information about this family other than Edmond, Nancy, Albert and Henry who were mentioned in the Brown Bible. On an 1846 Tax List in Kemper county were Albert, Edmond, Henry, Irwin, J. W., Mary, Michael, Morgan D., and Oliver Brown. I seem to recall an Oliver Brown in Bibb county, not connected to my line, at least to the best of my knowledge. Would anyone have information on Oliver Brown and whether this could be him?
