Sturdivant-Henderson Cemetery is a separate cemetery from the Sturdivant Cemetery located in Bamford (off of Hwy 277 in Helena). Sturdivant-Henderson Cemetery is located on Hwy 13 in Helena (Shelby Co AL) east of Shiloh Church Cemetery on the Cahaba River. This land is owned by US Steel. This cemetery has never been surveyed. This is what I know about the cemetery. There are approximately 24-30 graves in the cemetery and only two are marked. Holly Middleton Henderson Born 30 June 1823 Shelby Co AL, son of Mike and Martha Massey Henderson Died 7 May 1862 of disease in Selma, Dallas Co AL (44th AL Infantry, Co E) Sarah Elizabeth Harmon Henderson Born 30 June 1829, daughter of Allen and Rebecca Lindsey Harmon Died 11 December 1895 Holly Middleton Henderson married Sarah Elizabeth Harmon on 10 August 1848 Shelby Co AL Others believed to be buried in this cemetery: Sarah Gibson and her parents James Harmon Pleasant Henderson (infant son of Holly and Sarah Henderson) John Nichols (who married Lydia Harmon) Mike and Martha Massey Henderson (parents of Holly M. We (family researchers) have been looking for someone that could state that "Holly Middleton Henderson Born 30 June 1823 Shelby Co AL, son of Mike and Martha Massey Henderson Died 7 May 1862 of disease in Selma, Dallas Co AL (44th AL Infantry, Co E)" is the son of Mike and Martha Massey Henderson. Mike is short for Michael. One other person ( James Ammons) had sent me a letter with a statement that "I believe the father to Hollie Middleton Henderson was a Michael Henderson", but it was in a Not-quite-so-positive statement. James also was the person that took Derrell Judd and his wife Lila to the cemetery site and took pictures of Hollie Middletons Henderson's headstone.
