I am hardly an expert, but I like it. I have the McCord book as well; both books have their good points - I like the description of the locations of the cemeteries in the new book (don't recall that in the other book, but I could be wrong about that! I bought it, thinking that I might find the location of my great great grandmother, wife of Neill McIntosh, who is buried in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery; it is assumed that she is buried alongside of him but there is no marker for her and a fairly large one for him. It's also possible that she died in North Carolina before they left to come to Bibb County after the Civil War. Interestingly enough, my grandparents are not listed in the cemetery - my grandfather died in 1965 and my grandmother in 1976, I believe, so I think the book was originally published after that time - no record of when the surveys were made, however, si I can't be sure. If anyone knows the location of the burial of the wife of Neill McIntosh, please let me know. I don't think anyone would be alive who remembers her or a funeral. What is your grandmother's first name and maiden name? It is possible she could be listed in the SSDI and you would have a death date for finding the obit. Obits can be researched by the Alabama Dept. of Archives and History.
