I have not looked at McCord book in many years; however, I recall there were many, many "unidentified graves" in just about every cemetary... Yet, when I discovered my g, g, grandfathers grave, his wife, and his maternal uncle John Hunt; it was right next to John W Logan, one of his sons, and behind Douglas Logans group of graves.... Seems that he was not very accurate in some cases, at least. all these were clearly marked once found. Perhaps the new version has corrected some of this. don ----- Original Message ----- From: <mrmac1000@aol.com> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 30, 2009 8:49 AM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] - BOOKS "Bibb Co., ALCemeteries, Graveyards, and Family Burial ... > I am hardly an expert, but I like it. Could some of the markers been put up afterwards? I know my parents and a group of relatives pushed forward with a fundraiser and put up a LOT of markers in Tabernacle and in other places after the McCord books as published. I think it was the motivating factor because they realized how much people might want to know in the future so they "went for it" and succeeded. Thank God and my wonderful, wonderful, family. Also the cemetery that my parents found in the middle of the woods (with help from Lawrence relatives) in a cow pasture near Seagrove, NC was rumored to have been slaves, but because of the markers that were unearthed (fancy) and the names and dates turned out to be the family burial ground of the John B. Lawrence Plantation. It was still owned by Lawrence descendant at that time (back in the 70's and 80's). There might still be black people in that cemetery, but I'm just saying that designations aren't always correct. It is now fenced off thanks to Lawrence descendant Carrol Shelby and his family and it has a LARGE memorial stone. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Logan" <moodylogan@windstream.net> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 11, 2009 2:36 AM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] - BOOKS "Bibb Co., ALCemeteries, Graveyards, and Family Burial ... >I have not looked at McCord book in many years; however, I recall there >were > many, many "unidentified graves" > in just about every cemetary... > Yet, when I discovered my g, g, grandfathers grave, his wife, and his > maternal uncle John Hunt; it was right next to John W Logan, one of his > sons, and behind Douglas Logans group of graves.... > > Seems that he was not very accurate in some cases, at least. all these > were > clearly marked once found. > > Perhaps the new version has corrected some of this. > > don > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <mrmac1000@aol.com> > To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, July 30, 2009 8:49 AM > Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] - BOOKS "Bibb Co., ALCemeteries, Graveyards, and > Family Burial ... > > >> I am hardly an expert, but I like it.
