    2. There is a metal box which holds index cards on top of some filing cabinets in the same room where you'll find marriage records. The box contains index cards with information on each card as to the book and page number where you'll find records concerning various estate settlements. Before the Will Book series was started wills were recorded in the some of the older books (Orphans Court Records, Administrator Records, and Minutes Books). Some of the books have an index and some do not. Years ago one of the clerks went through the books and created the card index. Sometimes you can get lucky and find the loose papers concerning an estate in the basement of the annex. The papers were organized and placed in folders a few years ago by some volunteers in preparation for microfilming. The records have been microfilmed. You can check the Family History Library (LDS) catalog to see if the film is available.
