Liz This HOLDER family did pass through Tennessee. The father of James listed in the original post was Elijah HOLDER b. ca 1815 in North Carolina. He married first Susan Taylor. Their first daughter, my ancestress Frances was born in North Carolina. The next (3) children born between 1840 and 1844 were born in Tennessee and the next child born in 1847 was born in Alabama as well as subsequent children. Susan died between 1850 and 1853 and Elijah married Christianna Simms, the mother of the James from the original post. There were (2) additional children as well from this marriage. Elijah died in 1872 at Bryce Hospital.
