Hi Evelyn Shimek, As far as I know I only had one Nichols family in Plantersville, Dallas Co., AL. although there were many in the area. I have never been able to connect them. I guess the reason is because my Nichols went to Henry Co., AL. before coming to Perry Co. He was William Middleton Nichols. His wife was Lizzie Terry daughter of Daniel and Nancy Friday Terry. William Middleton Nichols parents were John & Elizabeth Tiller Nichols of Henry Co. I believe they came from the Kershaw area of SC to Henry Co. Al. Middleton as he was called was the only one of these Nichols to come to Perry Co. I am not sure why he came to that area but he was prisoned at Rock Island IL during the civil war and died sometime shortly after his release at the end of the war. After his death it appears his widow Betty Terry Nichols and their children moved to Jefferson Co., AL. While there could be a connection with the other Nichols in Perry Co. I believe they came from what was known as the Dutch Fork SC which is now what is called Newberry SC in a large migration of this areas inhabitants. While this Nichols family intermarried frequently with my other lines, I do not know of any other connection and have not researched them extensively. If there are others in the Bibb area I do not know of them. Let me know if this sounds familiar to you. My Great or Great Great Grandmother was a Nichols who either lived in Bibb County or Jefferson County, but definitely had connections to bibb county.
