    1. Re: [ALBIBB] ALBIBB Digest, Vol 1, Issue 71
    2. Hello List, Researchers need to pursue all extant records for the given as well as varient sp. of surnames. In the Gandrud (etal.) extractions of early Bibb Co marriages there is an entry stating one IRENE QUINN married one James Elbert HENRY. Research shows there were no less than three extant documents relative to this marriage (1) application for license (2) parental consent of the groom and (3) actual date marriage performed ("return"). ... in viewing only the 1 document (app. for license one might assume the given name of the bride as IRENE to be correct. However; in viewing the two additional records/addendums it becomes quite clear that the given name of the bride was JANE: in the __old handwriting__ a "capital J" was more often than not written __"above the line" as we today would write a "capital _"!". When requesting a copy of a marriage document from any state/county source I might suggest you include in your request copies of any related and attached documents.
