Stella Stella, Not to worry. I'm new to this Bibbs county genealogy board and not sure how it all works yet. I keep getting replies from other people meant for others. No, I am trying to find out who my great grandmother's parents were, she was born in 1861 in Scottsville, Bibb County, AL and her name was Candace Yucatan Owens. She later married a Miller who was killed and then a Drouet and then moved to Tennessee between 1886 and 1890. Candace was an orphan, so I am not totally sure that Owens was her biological name. I hope it wasn't changed. Or then I'll probably never track her down. She was supposed to have been an orphan. Best regards, Paula Iles Restrepo, Dallas, TX
Paula, I love the stories about Candace you just told. She sounds like a saucy, campy, woman with a free spirit ahead of her times. Don't be so hard on her. She probably would have become a great woman had she been born later!! And comments such as the one about the shades up are often misunderstood when told later. It's like the game "gossip". However, imagine having your own personality misinterpreted several generations from now because of one incident or sentence you said in your WHOLE life!! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 04, 2006 1:22 PM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] Candace Y.
