The "Old St Stephens" land book also has listings of "American State Papers, Public Lands" in it. The "Old St Stephens" land book is on AL, although the upper two thirds of AL and also MS were at one time Georgia in the very late 1700s and early 1800s until which time they became the MS Territory, and then for a short time for AL, the AL Territory, just before becoming a state. Those listings for "American State Papers, Public Lands" are: "Spanish Land Grants" (also has: "Register of Patents on Military Bounty Warrants 1855-1861, 1887-1888" and "Abstracts of Land Warrants 1853-1877") "Applications for Extension of Credit" "Non-Resident British Grants"" "Abstracts of Spanish Grants disallowed, on suspicion of being antedated" "Claims Founded on Spanish Patents Legally and Fully Executed, But Not Confirmed By the Board of Commissioners" "Pre-Emption Certificates" Some of the above date back to the mid and late 1700s.
