Connie, See if you have this !!! in the letter signed by Lena Haskell Pierson 1933. Aunt Molly Ryan Wiggins gave me the names of the children of James and Mary Foster;and also much of the info about them !!!! Jim > Hello Jim, > The information I have is that they were associated with both counties. My Pierson/Pearson family was found pretty much on the line between the two counties. What Pierson do you have in Tuscaloosa County? I don't have the person you mentioned but that doesn't mean a whole lot, because I am not an expert. I don't have a clue about what is happening to cause repeat postings other than perhaps there is some "fine tuning" being done by Rootsweb - so when you see a posting that you are sure you read a week or so ago, just delete. No need to question what is happening on the list. Thanks, Caroline Horton List Administrator

Another Question: Can I send an attachment to a mailing list? Answer No. Attachments are not allowed on RootsWeb mailing lists for the same reason that posts are restricted to plain text only. Attachments may contain a virus or other malware. Eliminating attachments from list mail is (in our opinion) a necessary security measure to protect our list subscribers. C. Horton, List Administrator
Our list has been rather quiet the past few months as many of us have been busy with holiday planning. Here is a learning tool, copied from RootsWeb, for sending posts to the list. We're never too old to learn - remembering is a situation that isn't as simple :) . Caroline Horton, List Administrator What are the steps to creating a great post? First, choose a subject line that is brief, but descriptive. Include information such as first name, last name (surname), some applicable dates, and other details. Subjects that say only "Need Help" or that only state a location or surname (for instance, using only the subject "Smith" when posting to the Smith board) should be avoided. Next, create the body of your message and include as many relevant details as possible. Once you have typed your message, enter all of the surnames mentioned in your post in the "Surnames" field. Please include only surnames that are mentioned in your post- not all surnames you might be researching. If you wish, you can include surname spelling variations for the surnames mentioned in your message. After you have entered the surnames, select a classification for your post. Please visit the FAQ topic "What classification should I use for my post?" to help you select one if necessary. When replying to a post, the classification of the original post will already be selected for you. You can choose to use that classification, or select a new one. Once all required fields have been filled out, you can preview your post by selecting "Preview". This will show you your message as it will appear on the board. From the Preview page, you can choose to post your message or go back and edit it. If you do not wish to preview your post, select the "Post" button and your message will be posted to the board immediately. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Jim, The information I have is that they were associated with both counties. My Pierson/Pearson family was found pretty much on the line between the two counties. Thanks Caroline. -----Original Message----- From: albibb-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:albibb-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of caroline Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 2008 1:08 PM To: BIBB Subject: [ALBIBB] Books digitized on FamilySearch.org The following was written by FamilySearch: FamilySearch Digital Preservation Initiative Hits a Milestone Salt Lake City, Utah-FamilySearch International reached a milestone today with the digitization of its 25,000th publication online. It began the initiative in 2007 and is ramping up to do even more-and faster. The effort targets published family, society, county, and town histories, as well as numerous other historical publications that are digitally preserved and made accessible for free online. The digital publications can be searched at www.FamilySearch.org (Go to FamilySearch.org, then click Search Records, then click Historical Books). The above notice was in Dick Eastman's Daily newsletter. Today I've browsed Alabama cemeteries from a publication called "Alabama Cemetery Records", copied by the Southern States Mission, 1946. Only a few cemeteries in each county are listed and then not every burial. But . . . there are some interesting notes by some of the names such as for Caffee Cemetery in Bibb, naming the relationships such as husband of, wife of, son of. The age of this document may help you locate old graves that are no longer visible if you are lucky enough to find your "missing person". The listing of relationships may also help identify that person whose parents you don't know. Of course, any new info needs to be proven by a more reliable source, if possible. I put in the keyword "ALABAMA" - no time today to finish perusing all that is there for Alabama.
