    2. John Brown
    3. My Brown, Langston, James, Cottingham, Parker, etc. lines come from the Six Mile area. Jesse Anderson Brown, Sr. was the first of my Brown to come to Bibb County in about 1820. That is my paternal line. My maternal line is Burt, Watts, Yeager, Daniells, Medders, etc. who lived in Scottsville and West Blocton area. My great grandfather Eustace Burt moved to Bibb county from Talladega County in about 1880. The Watts probably came about the same time, maybe a little earlier. 3. John, I was able to purchase a copy in the SAWMILL restaurant in Brent. I wouldn't call that locally if you are in Prattville but it is closer than I am. By the way I would think that Books A Million could order a copy for you. (I know "Barnes & Noble" and "Borders" will.) and you can get in 4-5 days. 2. Connie Parnell- Beverly
    3. Hello, My name is Connie Parnell-Beverly, and I live in North Talladega County, Alabama. My grandmother was Mary Eugenia Pearson from Bibb County. She actually lived quite close to the Tuscaloosa County line, and was married in Tuscaloosa. Her home church was Haysop Baptist Church, and all that implies. I found out this past summer that my Camp relatives from my Parnell side, can also be found in Bibb County, so I am also interested in them. Herman Belcher and Pat Black were of tremendous help to me, when I was getting started with all of this. I am interested in any descendents still found in Bibb County, who are from the marriage of Wilburn Pearson and Sarah Jane Steele. Try to stay warm, and I hope to hear from many of you. Connie Parnell-Beverly

    1. [ALBIBB] WARD/SHELBY/MALONE
    2. Evelyn S. Leslie
    3. In response to Caroline's request to identify the individuals we are looking for in Bibb County: According to the death certificate of Hugh T. "Dan" WARD b. 7 Jan 1852, his father was L------(can't decipher) WARD and mother unknown. Our research seems to prove that L. WARD was married to a Mary SHELBY and she was the mother of our Hugh T. "Dan" WARD. We believe this is the same Mary WARD who married Allen MALONE 3 Feb 1858 and had a daughter, Mary, age 2 on the 1860 census. Records for these families have been found in both Bibb and Tuscaloosa Cos. Any help with the identify of "L. Ward" would be greatly appreciated. That one death certificate is the only record we have ever located that gives a name to him. Evelyn S. Leslie

    3. Now that the holidays are behind us once again let's introduce ourselves by telling about our families, names, dates, any information that will be helpful to someone else in recognizing the family and being able to help tear down brick walls. This will be especially helpful to our new cuzins on the list. 1. Remember to put your family member names in the subject line. Subject: Smith, Caffee, Vernon, Vance 2. Delete the previous subject names when posting your message unless it refers to the same names. By putting your surnames in the subject line they will show in the archives postings and help researchers find information later. Never use "roll call", "help", "looking for ancestors", etc. 3. Delete the "tags" (To unsubscribe from the list please send an email to ALBIBB-request@rootswebat) at the bottom of each posting before sending your post. This will prevent those tags from repeatedly showing in the digest mode. 4. When replying to a post leave only the relevant info from the post to which you are replying. This really makes sense if you are subscribed in digest mode - reading the same posts over and over can be quite frustrating. 5. In the body of the message CAPITALIZE the SURNAMES that you are researching - this helps the names stand out from the content of the message. Have you checked the Bibb mail list archives at http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ALBIBB/ ? You can browse the archives by last name by using "Search" at the top right of the archives page. Have you checked the Bibb web page at http://bibbcountyal.org/ ? Lots of great information and more added frequently. Please send our web master, Deb Haines, your own info. Looking forward to hearing from all list members . . . Caroline Horton, List Administrator SMITH (Andrew), CAFFEE, VERNON, VANCE
