    1. [ALBIBB] Death Certificate for "Jennie" 1909
    2. Melissa Hogan
    3. All A few weeks ago a friend asked if I needed any early death certificates copies pulled as she would be at the Family History Center... so I looked at my "to do" list and then did a bit more "creative" searching in the Alabama Death Index hoping to turn up some "missing" folks... as I did this I found a death indexed as just "Jennie"... no last name, only "Jennie"... I asked my friend if she had time to pull Jennie's death certificate as well. I was hoping maybe for a semi-illegible last name... but no she is simply Jennie. I can only speculate why her last name was not recorded... anyway for posterity and the possibility that someone out there is missing "Jennie", what follows is the information listed on the death certificate: Alabama, Bibb County, cert#543 Certificate of Death (Form No. 2) Full Name of Deceased: Jennie Date of Death, year: 1909, month: August; day: (blank); hour: (blank); A.M.: (blank); P.M. (blank) Place of birth of decased, (state or country): Ala Sex and color of deceased: Black Female (field allowed white, black or mulatto) Place of death of deceased, county: Beat 11 Bibb Co; beat: 11 City or town: (blank) How long did deceased reside at the place of death? 3 months Where was disease contracted? Beat 9 Duration of illness: 3 months Chief or principal disease causing death: Acute Tubercolosis (sic) Contributory disease causing death: (blank) Did deceased undergo a surgical operation, and if so when and of what nature? No Occupation of deceased: Not Given Age of deceased, years: 19; months: (blank); days: (blank); married, single or widowed: Single Full name of Father of deceased: (blank) Place of birth of father of deceased, (state or country): (blank) Full name of Mother of deceased: (blank) Place of birth of mother of deceased, (state or country): Ala Place of interment of deceased: Beat 9 Remarks: (blank) Reporter: L. E. Prococh?? M. D., West Blocton, Ala There is a date written underneath the doctor's name but it is difficult to read on the photocopy I have... definitely "Aug" then maybe 8 or 9? Melissa

You were just tougher birds, with the depression, a world war, etc. etc.... and I complain about the generation or two generations behind me. What give me hope about Obama is the number of youngsters that have begun to take part in our society again, and in politics. and I hnope with a more positive and ethical sense than we have seen from our politicions, bankers etc. the past 20 years. be well ole friend, I have found and picked out s lot of the vegigables you told me about. don ----- Original Message ----- From: "cwaltglo" <cwaltglo@aol.com> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2009 5:54 PM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] Al Pioneers > DON, > You not old.
