    1. [ALBIBB] Clark Family in Presbyterian Church
    2. Don Logan
    3. PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF THIS HAS ALREADY REACHED YOU. MY MACHINE IS FOULED UP, AND I AM AFRAID IT DID NOT GO OUT. Reading the Presbyterian book of Sessions, from the beginning of the church in 1824, There are a number of Clark listed: Alexander Clark, and what appears to be his wife Marian Then there is another group of Clarks, that would appear to be in the same family given the way they are listed: John Clark Daniel Clark, James Clark, Mary Clark Margaret Clark Effey Clark Ann Clark I wonder if anyone on the list knows anything about these Clarks? Walter, is this your gang? I am particularly interested in Mary Clark who married Collier and then Samuel Hunt Logan, and came to Texas. Collier and Mary had two children, a boy and a girl. Collier must have been killed in the CSA, and is buried at Mt Zion Baptist Church. I would appreciate any information about this Mary Clark....I believe my great, great grandmother had a mother who had been named a Cameron, from Scotland. I do not know from whence they came, although they apparently arrived in Bibb County shortly after the separation of Mississippi and Alabama in 1818 and formation of Alabama Territory. Any information would be received with much gratitude. Don Logan Lamesa, Texas

    3. Scott, you can get in touch with Vicky Clemmons in Centreville at vickclem@bellsouth.net . She *may* be able to make copies at the Bibb Co. courthouse, and will let you know cost. If Vicky cannot do this contact the researchers at the Ala. Dept of Archives and History. You can check on the web site for records available for Bibb Co. Most of the old probate records have been microfilmed. Research requests and fees are explained on the web site. 1. Re: [ALBIBB] Smith family of Bibb Co.
    2. Caroline
    3. Bill, there are a number of Smith families in Bibb, as you are probably already aware. Years ago several of us tried, and failed, to connect my Andrew David Smith with the others. Be sure to check the ALBIBB archives and other resources listed below. *ALBIBB mail list archives at http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ALBIBB/ . Search or browse the archives. *Web page for Bibb at http://www.rootsweb.com/~albibb/ *Al Gen Web at www.algenweb.us *Vicky Clemmons in Centreville at vickclem@bellsouth.net . She *may* be able to make copies at the Bibb Co. courthouse, library and newspaper if they are available and will let you know cost. *Alabama Pioneers at http://alabamapioneers.com/ *Images of America - Bibb County was published in late 2008. The book is available by going to www.HistoricBibb.com . One section of the web site has pictures of people, documents and artifacts and additional information can be documented if you register. *Alabama death certificates (not certified). The index of death certificates from 1908 to 1959 has been put on microfilm and is in the Alabama Archives, online at Ancestry.com for members, and available at many LDS Family History Centers. If your nearest FHC doesn't have it, it can be ordered. If the certificate you want is in that time period and listed on the index, it's also available on microfilm and a copy can be obtained for the cost charged at the facility that provides the film. If you can get the information about a death certificate from that index, you can also obtain a copy at http://alabamadeath.tripod.com/. Susette Cook, who runs the site, is a FHC volunteer and will provide copies (not certified ) for $3 each. *Alabama Dept. of Archives and History at http://www.archives.state.al.us/. You can do a search to see which newspapers and records for Bibb County are available. There is a fee for research but it is money well spent if you live out of traveling distance. Everet's son, John, migrated to central Alabama by 1850 and can be found with his descendants in Bibb and Perry counties throughout the mid to late 1800's. 3. Yes thanks though. I have used Susan at tripod a lot for death certs. I am trying to get a birth cert. now. Actually that new familysearch records search has helped a lot now that they released the Alabama Death Records from 1908-1974 instead of through 1952. Those records have a lot of information on them. I love it.
