We have been searching for a Henderson from about the same time. Our brick wall has the name of Daniel Henderson. I noticed that you have Robert and Sarah's children listed and there is a Daniel on that list. It is common to name children after siblings, so I'm thinking that our Daniel and your Robert were brothers, or at least cousins. We have a marriage for Daniel to Dianna Johnson for 12 Jan 1827 in Montgomery County, Alabama. We found his name in one other court record as being a witness to James P. Henderson's marriage to Sarah Parker on 10 mar 1835. Since it has been a long time since your post on the web, I wondered if you had any luck getting any info? Would love to try to connect it all. Thanks for your time, Ralph W. Henderson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Manuel, Enos and Samuel are brothers. I am glad to see your post as I did not know where Manuel went after 1830 in NC. Samuel remained in AL - later census identifies his mother's presence, I BELIEVE. Enos and Manuel went to AL. My other post identifies their father came to AL - Sion Luther but I have questions about that. There is another possibility: Father was Simeon whose first wife was Elizabeth Rogers and second wife have children listed. The dates of birth do not conflict with our ancestor's timelines BUT conflicts with later census records of Samuel household. These are among the questions. I trust the transcript of the will. I like the concurrence of the records quoted in other post. I like the amount of research in the Phillip Perry genealogy but do not have explanation of the discrepancies like the family being in TN by 1816 yet inheriting land that they "are living on" at a later date, marriage bonds for sons in NC in the 1830s, etc. Of course, there may be no connections at all between the three grandsons of Reuben Rogers and my ancestors - such are the problems of researching this particular time period (the revolution through about 1850). ============ More quoted materials ===== >From Phillip Perry Geneology: "119. Simeon Perry-(Sion, Francis, Philip) was born on 24 Jul 1786 and died in 1826. Simeon married Elizabeth Rogers-. Simeon next married Mary Weir (Ware?)-in 1816 in TN. Levi married Virigia A. Bradham on December 23, 1875 in Decatur, Newton, Mississippi. They had 14 children. Emma Pearl, Bama Estelle, George W, Alexander, James Walter, Joseph Lee, Lula Delvina, Willie Wamsley, Adella Mary, Minnie O, Mary Elizbeth "Lizzie", Henry McCloud, Charles Elmer, and Verda F. Several people have a death date in 1929 for Levi. This is not correct. The L M Miles that died in Cherokee County was not Levi Mardis Miles. We have been to Cherokee County and viewed that death certificate. That man was not born in Alabama. We believe Levi died between 1910 and 1920. He was on the 1910 Census in Justice Precint 4, Limestone County with his wife Virginia and sons Henry, Charles, and daughter, Vida. The 1920 census shows Virginia as a WIDOW and she is living with J S Miles (we think this should be J L Miles, her son Joseph Lee) in Navarro County. We know Virginian died in 1925. No, Ingrid. It was not. All my ancesters lived there about. Both side. I was born there, many year ago. walter
Ingrid, the only Scottsville Church of which I am aware is the one that is now called Union Church and is directly across from the Scottsville Cemetery. I must assume the congregation was white as my ancestors and collateral kin are buried in the cemetery. There may have been another church in Scottsville. Anyone?
