One thing that I do, in addition to writing down all serial numbers, is to take a business or personal card that has my name, address, and phone number on it, and place it INSIDE the cabinet or case (if possible) of a valued item in an inconspicuous place. Depending on the item, you can either tape it in, fold it, or roll it. Then, if found and you have to identify it, there is your card on the inside. Examples: A bicycle or motorbike, etc.: Take off one handle grip, roll up the card and place in the handlebar, put the grip back on! If you have access to the inside of the cabinet of your computer, printer, scanner, TV, media players, etc., tape it in a corner, or in the upper part of the cabinet. on the bottom of an access tray, any place where it does not hinder the mechanism. In a jewelry case, silverware case, etc. so something similar, slip it BEHIND the lining. Just use your imagination on various items, but this has worked for me. One more important thing: Use a videocamera or digital camera and take a picture of EVERYTHING - inside and outside your home. Take the memory chip and put it in your safety deposit box along with backup CD and or floppies of your computer data. I know this takes time, but it's a very valuable piece of visual evidence of ownership. Be aware that these should be kept up to date from time to time. Good luck and good safety! Grady

BA, Have you asked Samford University in Birmingham if they have anything on your Rev. John Hinton? They have the "Alabama Baptist Newspapers" and various Baptist church minutes. I do not know if it will help, but my husband's g.g. grandfather, Rev. Isaac M. Hicks suffered a stroke while preaching a revival at the Sardis Baptist Church ca. 1886. His family was from 1770's Randolph County, NC, present day Jasper county, GA 1808-1818. I received info. from the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., 1700 Baptist World Center Drive, Nashville, TN 37207 on a Texas Baptist preacher (1910). You might write them and ask if they have an info. I would also google his name-"Rev. John Hinton" as one never knows what will turn up.
