    3. HEllo, I reread the first five chapters, and I am sorry but they are not mentioned. They are not in the index, either. All of the books by Mr. Boyd are truly a wealth of information about this area; but, the Hinton family is not mentioned in this book, or so says the index. I have the book right next to me. That is not to say they were not in the area, but he did not mention them in this book. In the Haysop book, a Bertha Hinton is mentioned on p. 97--she is mentioned as being the wife of Loman Earnest Boyd, who is the son of Van Buren Boyd and Mignon Yeage--that is my interpretation of the paragraph. In the Liberty Church book, there is a John Hinton mentioned as being a member of the Sardis Church from 1819-1829. Maybe that will help you some. But as far as a whole chapter on the Hintons' I'm sorry but no. Connie Parnell-Beverly "Ayers, B. If anyone is looking for land records (patents) issued by a Land Office, such as Old St. Stephens Land Office, and for ANY PUBLIC LAND STATE (AL,Ark,FL,MO,etc.), use http://www.glorecords.blm.gov and do a patent search. 1. Re: [ALBIBB] Alabama State Censuses
    2. Joni
    3. I live in SC and am very interested in the 1820 Alabama Census. It is difficult to get to Montgomery and I doubt if the library here would consider ordering a copy of the Alabama Census. Is there anyone in the Montgomery area that will do look ups of this census? Anyone know of anyone? Thanks, Joni -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Breedlove, Mike Sent: Tuesday, December 26, 2006 9:17 AM To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [ALBIBB] Alabama State Censuses Besides the 1866 Alabama state census, Alabama also has state censuses (as well as federal) for 1820 and 1850. There is also a state census for 1855 with no corresponding federal census. All of the state censuses are available on microfilm at the Alabama Dept. of Archives and History (ADAH) in the Research Room on the First Floor. This microfilm can also be purchased, so you may want to suggest that your local library get these reels of microfilm from the ADAH. State Censuses available on microfilm at the ADAH Secretary of State State census 1820 Secretary of State State census 1850 Secretary of State State census 1855 Secretary of State State census 1866 For detailed descriptions of those censuses go to the following url for ADAHCAT, the ADAH's online catalog. (You may need to copy and paste the url into the address bar). http://216.226.178.197:81/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First Then do a Basic Search (the default) using the term secretary of state state census. All of those censuses will appear, along with the corresponding U.S. censuses and other records. For more details, call the ADAH Research Room Reference Desk at 334-353-4648, and ask for Arlanda Perkins. Take care and happy researching during the new year, Mike Mike Breedlove Alternate way to ADAHCAT - Go to the ADAH home page at http://www.archives.state.al.us/index.html, and then click on Search Our Collections - http://www.archives.state.al.us/searchcoll.html , then click on ADAHCAT, the online catalog. ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Melissa Hogan Sent: Friday, December 22, 2006 10:02 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [autauga] Link to information on how to locate the parents of an ancestor using death and other records Susette Cook has given us all a Christmas gift this year. I have several sources for the William Trucks will but do not have all the data. Apparently William Trucks Sr. from Penn was in Knox, Co. Ohio by 1811. He died 19Nov.1831 and William Trucks Jr. was executor. As you mentioned, William Jr. was sued by Sylvina and Esther. By 01July1833 the record shows that "the said William Trucks the younger hath since the filing of said petition and since the service of a subpoena on him in that behalf died". I will be happy to send you copies of all that I have. I recieved my info from a Helen Smith who had the will extracted for her from the Ohio Geneological Library in Mansfield, Ohio. I have the index list of the Richland Co. Wills listing : Trucks, Wm. Admin. Record Bk 1, p. 523, p.622 Estate book 1832 Trux,Wm Admin. Record Bk 3, p.412 (inventory) (1833) Admin. Record Bk.6,p.285 (final 1842); Admin. Record Bk. 12, p.229 (1833) Truckes, Wm.Admin. " " 9, p.671,674 Estate Bk. 1852 (guardianship for children: Porter and Emily Trucks) will of William Trucks Jr. Trucks,Wm. Admin. Record Bk. 12, p.36 (final) Guardianship for minors John and Charles Hope this helps. I would try the Mansfield Library. Will mail to you what I have. Email me at [email protected] The most interesting thing that I have from Helen is Part of a letter sent to her by her fellow researcher who had been going thru the newsletter for the Richland County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society for Oct-Dec 1987 which was citing the importance of checking the Common Pleas, Chancery, Law Record and Probate Journals in Ohio to gather genealogical information and had actually cited as an example the Trucks suit depositions, one dated 19oct 1831' the other dated 24 Aug 1838. I do wish we could locate these two depositions. The second date: John McHenry said that James N. Ayres (executor of Wm Trucks Jr. will) and Daniel Ayres are brothers. He also said that the 5 nearest neighbors of Wm. Sr. were: Daniel Ayres, James N. Ayres, Abner Ayres, George Ayres, Elizabeth Hell and Adam Keith. Wm. Shurr knew Wm. Trucks Sr. since 1813 and said Wm. Sr's first wife was the d/o Daniel Ayres. James N. Ayres stated tht George Trucks left home and has been, as reported by the Truck's family, dead for 20 years. His father, Wm. Sr. felt he died on the Mississippi River for he had a letter that gave a fair description of him. James said he had known the Trucks in Penn. I can send you a copy of these notes too, if you like. I have copies of George Joseph Trucks pension request letters having been in two Indian Wars in Alabama and Georgia. Will have to cite those sources later, must give my wrist a rest, had stitches out today after surgery last week for a fx wrist, slipped on the ice, oh well, it got me into the ancestry.com site, so happy I found you.
