I would be interested in comparing notes with you or anyone else who is interested. If you'd like for me to send you a text file, let me know. I'd also like to encourage any male with the surname of REACH to participate in the RICH DNA study. If you know of someone who might be interested, please pass the word along. It would help us in proving our paper trail and might provide clues for further research. Jacque Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I've checked my files on Jacob Kersh, and do not believe your Martha was his wife. The parents of Jacob's wife, Martha A. Brown, were Lucinda Cleveland and Willis Brown. They had two other children, James N C Brown and David L Brown. After Willis' death about 1840, Lucinda in 1842 married Jacob Kersh's oldest brother, Martin Kersh. Martha grew up in Martin and Lucinda's home and later married Jacob. I have not been able to find any trace of them after the 1870s. jackie kersh > iii. MARTHA J. BROWN, b. 1843, Bibb Co. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF MY EMAIL ADDRESS; [email protected]
Thank you for sending me this info. I knew about Stephen and Narcissius and I even have a copy of their marriage record from a trip I made to Centerville. What I have not been able to do is tie my GGGreatgrandfather Middleton to Stephen or A William Durbin. According to 1830 census. William had a couple of boys. Approx Stephen and Middleton's age. Later on I know that Stephen and Elizebeth were William's kids. Nothing on Middleton.I don't know where William is buried, I don't know his wife . Itsays he was born in Georgia. I have found where Middleton's father was from Ga. Would like to make a hard tie in . There are a lot of coincedences , but I would like some facts if you have any. I have a problem reading it the way it is shown on the message. William Lafayette Reach was the son of Andrew Jackson Reach and his wife Mary Frances Howard. Andrew was the son of James Crawford Reach and his wife Selina A. Looney. James Crawford Reach was the son of Charles Reach/Rich and his 2nd wife Milley Bailey. There is some information on the Bibb Co. web site about the family of Charles Reach/Rich. Jacque Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I posted about him earlier. However, I did a search on Roots Web and it stated he was the son of Andrew Jackson Reach. I thought his parents were Selena (Looney) Reach and James Crawford Reach. Have I been tracing the Looney line unnecessarily? My uncle told me his great grandparents were Selena and James???? Can anyone help clarify this mystery? Gomer Smith, from Germany. On Census records for Bibb& Baker Co show Enoch Smith's with 3 different wives, & he is abt the same age on each Census. He was married to my GGrandmother Eliz. Coker, but on Ancestry.Com shows under Family Data Collection that Enoch Smith, married to Mary Bruce, & it shows his parents to be Adam & Elizabeth Smith. He married Elizabeth Coker on Jun 1843, & this shows to Mary 1844. There has been a discrepancy for years if he was married to 3 different wives, or just to 1, my GG, Elizabeth. I have heard that an Enoch Smith is buried in Brierfield,AL but this Enoch was to have been married to Harriett Ford. Does anyone have any information to help me sort this all out?
