I have a photo of Henry Wallace that married Kandis Fancher(my grandfather's aunt.) My Grand father's name was Henry Clay Owen. My Grandfather and Grandmother lived near Bull dog Bend and I remember my mother talk about "The Wallace Place". I have no idea where it was. I also have some info on some of the Leeth's going back to George Leeth in the 1820's. I will be glad to share all that I have. Larry Parks > Northern California? You can buy the book at the Brent-Centreville Pu blic Library. Houston is about 3 hours from Austin, and since I am on oxygen, I do not get out much....and travel is difficult. Sorry. But, so many people work on line with libraries. I cannot, personally. don ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Zeravich" <nancyzeravich@sbcglobal.net> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2008 12:10 PM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] John Leeth Wallace > Don: I note that someone has told you the Clayton > Library in Houston has a good collection of info on > Bibb County. Northern California? How far is the closest LDS (Morman) Family history library to you? Use www.familysearch.org to find the closest, and also to see what microfilm the have on the records of Bibb Co. For film, go to www.familysearch.org, click on search, than on Library Catalog. Do a place search (Bibb and Alabama). You can order microfilmed records, etc. for use at your local family history library. Don, I hope you enjoy Austin, TX (my hometown). You're only about 165 miles from the Clayton Library, Center for Genealogical Research, here in Houston. The tornado hit about a mile and a half from our homes but we didn't hear anything. When the lights went out Steve turned on the portable radio and learned what had happened. He bought a portable generator a few weeks ago - said we'd probably never use it - ha! We hooked up the 2 refrigerators, the tv (satellite) and a floor lamp and were quite cozy - lights back on that night by bedtime. We got cable late last night for the phone and computer. The damage is severe - a miracle no lives were lost. If you respond please do so directly to me at carolineh@knology.net , not to the list. These links to WSFA give video, articles and px from the storm. http://www.wsfa.com/global/story.asp?s=7890620 http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp?S=7890215&nav=menu33_2 Prattville Businesses Cleanup After Storm I wanted to let all you "cuzins" know that John Brown and I and my husband are fine and without any damage. And, there's really no need to respond at all - just letting everyone know we're OK. Caroline
nancy, I have never heard of Sarah Eugenia, although William married an Eugenia, I believe. Look in the Bibb County 100 years book,' she is mentioned there as she wrote an autobiography abourt how they made Civil Was clothes for the men who left to fight. and how she married Mr Logan. Her father was a Judge, but I do not recall his name just now. I will look into it more in Austin, don ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Zeravich" <nancyzeravich@sbcglobal.net> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 4:15 PM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] John Leeth Wallace > Dear Don: I am very interested in knowing whatever > you can tell me. Enjoy Austin, Don Stella
Dear Don: I am very interested in knowing whatever you can tell me. Eugenia, I assume, is Sarah Eugenia, daughter of John and Mary born about 1866. Perhaps the other girl married their son, Matthew Duncan Wallace. I am especially interested in him because he and my grandmother, Nannie went to Walla Walla Territory together. Look forward to talking more. Nancy --- "Donald M Logan, Ph. Later, another daughter, I forget at the moment...it was not Fannie, but a sister near her age, dont recall the name....married Matt Wallace. I am moving to Austin for a few months, and will log on when I get there for any replys.
