All, One can use www.worldcat.org to locate newspapers, microfilm, books, etc. I had thought that the only place I could read Alabama Baptist Newspapers was at Samford U. in Birmingham. I was surprised to see that Baylor U. in Waco, TX (closer to me than Birmingham) has these as well. Caroline Thank you so much! I'll have to check out Clark cemetery. Actually no. I hadn't checked, as Katrina interrupted my research, and I ended up loosing almost all my work and records in the aftermath. I'm still rather upside down, and going only by memory of the 9 months research I did. I don't have time to do any real research anymore, just look at albibb once in a while. Aren't there some cemeteries on the Bibb County Website? I know Fred Lawrence was photographing some and I'm thinking others might also have been. To photograph, take a digital camera ( disposable?), a strong flashlight and maybe something to put behind the headstone like a big black piece of poster board? Then put the photos on a cd or have the store do it and snailmail or email it to someone who can put it on the website. Am I right, Caroline? I'm sure someone can say. The Clark cemetery definitely needs to be done, if it hasn't already as there have been several requests on albibb for Clark info. How can we reach those archives, Caroline? that doesn't mean the exact person you are looking for will be in the archives, but you may at least find a clue. ----- Original Message ----- From: "caroline" <carolineh@knology.net> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2008 11:54 AM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] James Clark death record > Ingrid, the McCord's Cemetery book is the one I used. Chuck there is a Clark Cemetery (family cemetery). In it are several with surnames of Lawrence and Mink. Also: J.J. Clark, b. July 15, 1831; d. Mar 17, 1879. Charles P. Clark, b. May 11, 1859; d. Thanks, Deb, for keeping up with "changing times" among the genealogy related networks. If you aren't aware of the changes do some research using your favorite search engine and read about the what is taking place, the use of advertising, etc. And please remember that this list is not a forum for discussion of your feelings about the changes. Deb wrote me that "The Bibb list is the best list I am subbed to . . . !!" Thanks, Deb. The mail list will continue at the same address. It is not, and never has been, at the same address as the web site. Please add the new address, http://bibbcountyal.org/ , for the web site to your "favorites" or to a similar folder section on your computer and remember to refer to it often for new information - even old information that might now make sense with your newer discoveries. Thanks to everyone.
