Author: Nquizitive Surnames: Payne and Hill Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.alabama.counties.bibb/3778.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: How fascinating! My great grandfather was Daniel Blackburn Payne, son of John Blackburn Payne, son of Hiram F. Payne. Although I don't have a Johnathan or Nathaniel in my database as yet, I have no doubt our genetic paths cross somewhere! My Paynes' lived in the Perry/Hale Co. area primarily, but at least one of Hiram's daughters, Minerva, married James Davenport "Dock" Hill in Bibb Co. so the roots are there somewhere. Hopefully, we'll find where that is. Do you know anything about Minerva Payne and James Hill? And, better yet, do you know or have any idea where Hiram Payne might be buried? Ever heard of Old Union Cemetery in the National Forest? Talk to you soon. Judi Mills Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. That's okay on the newspaper abstracts Don. I'll send you a check for total once you know shipping. Shipping them altogether would be best. Check and see if they can be shipped by Media Mail when you get them boxed up. That is usually cheaper and the books qualify for Media mail shipment. 3. Tomorrow I plan to ask the lady to go ahead and copy the two booklets. Please let me know if you want to purchase a copy, as I prefer not to go back for many times. Her estimate of costs was $ 18. for each book; and I believe she said 7.50 for postage of both books. (actually, two day priority was cheaper than the one week or more surface mail) Please let me know. I may try to wait until May 6, Monday, but I am very busy with the garage cleaning and book unboxing. A man is coming from California to purchase the other books next week, and I am not ready, yet. thank you, don logan austin, TX

    2. Susan York
    3. Donna, Happy to sell you the Perry Co book. I shipped one priority mail, and it was 15 to my surprise...however, I think to ship it regular was about as high. weighs 3.1 lbs. With the Pratt and Schultz books. I inquired today and they will cost 18.00 each for copies, and shipping...I dont have in front of me just now, I think she said around 10. As for the Greene Co. Cenetery record. I had thought !0 for the book, I suspect you can get a lot cheaper shiping with all together. I will have her begin copies, so that we can ship it out to you next week. Books: 30+18+18+10 = $ 82. plus shipping. My address is: Don Logan 6406 Blarwood Drive, Austin, Texas 78745 512-441-7049 thanks, Don. I will try to get total shipping for you tomorrow, perhaps. don ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Causey" <dcausey1@charter.net> To: <albibb@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 02, 2008 8:25 AM Subject: Re: [ALBIBB] ALBIBB Digest, Vol 3, Issue 112 > Don, > I would like to buy the Perry County heritage book as well as the Pratt > family profile and Schultz Creek Bapt. church minutes and I'll pay $30 it > and I'm also interested in the Cemetery records of Greene co., and related > areas and the Kelsey Alabama newspaper abstracts.
