My great grandfather was Daniel Blackburn Payne, son of John Blackburn Payne, son of Hiram F. Payne. Although I don't have a Johnathan or Nathaniel in my database as yet, I have no doubt our genetic paths cross somewhere! My Paynes' lived in the Perry/Hale Co. area primarily, but at least one of Hiram's daughters, Minerva, married James Davenport "Dock" Hill in Bibb Co. so the roots are there somewhere. Hopefully, we'll find where that is. Do you know anything about Minerva Payne and James Hill? And, better yet, do you know or have any idea where Hiram Payne might be buried?
