    1. [ALBIBB] Owen Aiken Dailey family
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: LoriChampionSullivan Surnames: Dailey & Champion families of Bibb County, Alabama Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.alabama.counties.bibb/3780/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Yesterday I received a copy of a ten page transcript that was penned by Charles Collier Dailey (b:Jan 26, 1889). In 1964 at age 75, he recorded as best he could descendents of his grandfather Owen Aiken (Boag) Dailey and wife Jane Smith. The children listed for Owen and Jane are Owen Aiken Dailey, Jr., Harrison W. Dailey, John Dailey, James Monroe Dailey, George Dailey, Helen Dailey, and Mary Eliza Dailey. I now know that Owen Aiken (Boag) Dailey was my Great great great grandfather. My good fortune in obtaining this 44-year-old document is blowing my mind and I just couldn't wait to share my wonderful discovery with anyone researching this family. I am to assume that I am not the only person in possession of this document and would love to hear from anyone who has already entered this information in his or her computer. There are over 500 people named in this document as well as personal recollections of this elderly author. I will of course translate all this information myself into a GEDCOM as time allows. I have not spent much time on the Dailey side of my family because I realized that not too many people were publicly researching this family and I knew I would be launching a huge research project in my very limited spare time. In other words, I've been unable to identify anyone who had already researched and posted Dailey information to make it easy on me LOL. With this document in hand, I now have no excuse and will begin source verification of the amazing document given to me by Jerry Wayne Dailey. I was quick to notice a few mistakes in my immediate family listed in this transcript and there must be others that I will not have personal knowledge of. I do hope that others interested in the Dailey family will assist me in source verification so that all mistakes can be corrected. I welcome emails and phone calls from anyone interested in this amazing find. Contact me at (205) 985-2040 or lorisullivan2@aol.com if you'd like to know more. 3. Caroline, I am getting a Bibb County, Georgia excerpt on the link that you provided. I will google it also and see what happens. Perhaps some of the online used book suppliers would have copies. Or someone on this list would be willing to donate a copy to the library. I used Google and came up with what seems to be an excerpt from the book at http://gahistory.i-found-it.net/braswellmurder.html There may have been a few more excerpts but I didn't continue looking.
