    1. Re: [ALBIBB] Calvin Perry of Bibb County Alabama
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: BobbieAnn123 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.alabama.counties.bibb/713.884.1037.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Melissa, Recently I found my original message and your reply with info on my gggrandfather, Calvin P Perry when he married Amandy Langlin on 28 Nov 1864 in Bibb Co. I tried to contact you about a month ago but I'm not sure if you received my e-mail. Do you have any additional info on the Langlin or Perry family? I know very little about both of them. However, I believe Calvin's parents are Emanuel Perry and Marthy Pace Perry. They were married 31 Jan 1831 in North Carolina and are listed in the 1850 Alabama Census for Tallapoosa Co. Also, I think I found them on the 1860 Alabama Census for Bibb Co, however they are indexed as Pindar because that is the family name listed just about them. On that census, all the information matches my family except the last name. And, I believe Calvin had a brother Augustus who married Martha McNeal in 1855 in Bibb County. Augustus and Martha had two children, William E born 1857 and Mary born 1858. It is still a mystery if Calvin served during the Civil War. I have found a Calvin Perry and Augustus Perry listed with the Talladega Camp of Instruction. But I am not sure if this Calvin if gggrandfather. I do know that Joseph Calvin Perry from Bibb County was killed during the Civil War. He was married to Frances Holder and had two children, Charity and Enos. Joseph Calvin was sometimes listed as Calvin. So, it is possible the person listed might be Joseph Calvin. And, I have found vague information that Levin Perry might be a cousin to Augustus and Calvin. I would appreciate any information on either family. 1. [ALBIBB] Fw: information about cemetery websites
    2. Lois Anderson
    3. Lois, Thank you so much for the INVALUABLE information.  There was another researcher had photos he wanted to share.  Could you repost this message to me on the Alcoosa and possibly the Albibb rootswebs under the subject line of "websites for cemetery pictures" or something appropriate so he will read it?  I don't read the rootsweb emails that come to me with names I'm not researching.  There are too many of them.  Thanks again. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------I volunteer for www.findagrave.com.  You should be able to find the cemetery by searching for it there.  If there is no cemetery listing, you can have one added.  The cemeteries have memorials for the those buried there.  You can find the memorial for the owner of your photo and post it there.  If there is no memorial for them, you can create one and then post your photos.  There is a discussion forum if you have questions or you can let me know of any thing you need help with.  I'd be glad to help.   www.genealogytrails.com also is trying to set up free access to genealogy resources.  You can submit your photos and information to kimmysuet@aol.com .  They aren't posting family lines, just resources.  They will give you credit for the information.  Right now, Coosa County has almost no information, so anything you can give them would be greatly appreciated.  They have plans on doing some transcription work for the state of Alabama soon, I believe in October.   I'm sure there are more places, but I hope this information is helpful.    Lois  Anderson

And just last week I was sifting and organizing, for the hundreth time, my genealogy notes. Then take this information to your local library and request the interlibrary loan. Early newspapers are listed for each county with the dates microfilm is available for that newspaper. Or, ask the researchers at ADAH to find the obit for you. The fee and other requirements for research are explained online.
